TAKING A BREAK

NORDIC AND WELLNESS WALKS

Well, folks, gather 'round because I've got some news that’s about as fun as stepping on a Lego in the dark. You see, I’ve been doing my best impression of an ostrich lately—head buried deep in the sand, hoping that my hip would magically heal itself over the Christmas break. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. (If only wishing on a star worked for hip problems, right?)

So here’s the scoop: I’m going to have to hit the pause button on our lovely walks for the foreseeable future. I know, I know—cue the sad trombone music. 🎺 But trust me, it’s not you, it’s me. My hip has decided to throw a tantrum, and I’m left struggling to walk like a newborn giraffe. (Not the graceful kind, either.)

Now, before you start sending me virtual hugs and sympathy cards, let me assure you that I’m on the mend! I’m currently undergoing treatment, but the doc has given me the heads-up that this isn’t going to be a quick fix. (If only I could just pop a magic pill and be back to my sprightly self!)

While I’m doing my best to follow my physio’s advice and get those steps in, I’ve been advised that leading walks while I’m in this state would be about as wise as trying to juggle flaming torches. (Spoiler: it’s not wise at all.) I’d hate to be the one needing a rescue instead of leading the charge through the great outdoors. Talk about a plot twist!

So, for now, I’m going to be taking a break from leading our beloved walks. I promise to keep you all updated on my progress—think of it as a reality show, but with less drama and more ice packs. (And maybe a few too many cups of tea.)

In the meantime, I encourage you all to keep striding through the beautiful landscapes we love. Take a walk for me, and maybe even do a little happy dance when you reach your favourite spot. (Just don’t trip over your own feet like I might!)

Thank you for your understanding and support during this time. I can’t wait to get back out there with you all, strutting my stuff like the fabulous walking leader I aspire to be. Until then, keep those hiking boots warm and your spirits high!

Stay quirky, stay fabulous, and remember: every step counts—even if some of us are taking a little detour for now!
